Overview
PayMeLah ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the PayMeLah mobile application ("App"), how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using the App you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
- Account information β your email address and username, collected when you create an account.
- Payment profile β your Singapore mobile number (for PayNow) and/or a payment QR code image, if you choose to add them in Settings. These are optional and stored solely to facilitate settlements between users.
- Receipt data β photos of receipts you scan, the parsed item and price data, and the assignments you make. This data is stored so your group can view balances.
- Group and participant data β names and identifiers for bill-split groups and their participants.
- Usage data β standard server logs (IP address, request timestamps) retained for security and debugging purposes.
We do not collect precise location data, contacts, or any data not listed above.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the bill-splitting features of the App.
- To authenticate you securely and maintain your session.
- To display balances and settlement information to you and your group members.
- To respond to support enquiries you send us.
- To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
We do not use your data for advertising and we do not sell your data to any third party.
Third-Party Services
PayMeLah uses the following third-party services to operate:
Supabase
Authentication, database, and file storage. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure. Privacy Policy: supabase.com/privacy
Anthropic Claude API
Used to parse receipt photos into structured item data. Receipt image contents are sent to Anthropic's API for processing and are not retained beyond the request. Privacy Policy: anthropic.com/privacy
Microsoft Azure
Backend hosting. Server logs may be retained by Azure in accordance with their data processing terms.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, all personal data associated with it β including your email, payment profile, QR code, groups, and receipts you created β is permanently deleted within 30 days.
Your Rights
Under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) and applicable laws, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
- Request deletion of your account and associated data (via Settings β Delete Account, or by emailing us).
- Withdraw consent for optional data (e.g. remove your PayNow number or QR at any time in Settings).

Children's Privacy
PayMeLah is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
